Patrice Erickson grew up in East Hartford, Connecticut. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Central Connecticut State University and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with high honors from the University of Michigan-Flint. She furthered her study of classical academic oil painting and Italian Renaissance painting techniques with master artists Frank Covino and Larry Blovits. Erickson now lives and works in Rochester Hills, Michigan.
Erickson is a contemporary landscape artist who paints in oils. Her work is dominated by quiet open fields and richly colored, dramatic skies. Her paintings have been exhibited across Michigan at venues like the Ella Sharp Museum, Midland Center for the Arts, Birmingham Bloomfield Art Center, Detroit Artists Market, Anton Art Center, Scarab Club, Sage Center for the Fine Arts, Starkweather Arts Center, Lawrence Street Gallery, Gallery Uptown, and Rankin Art Gallery. She held solo shows at Lawrence Street Gallery, the A. Alfred Taubman Gallery at the University of Michigan Hospital, and at the University Center Fine Art Gallery at the University of Michigan-Flint.
