Plein Air Art Show and Fundraiser

Enjoy beautiful plein air landscapes depicting Downtown Rochester, MI and the municipal park. I'll be one of the participating artists. Part of the proceeds goes towards an artist scholarship. This scholarship will go to a Michigan resident high school student who is pursuing fine arts or ceramics, attending a Michigan based art college. Look forward to seeing you there!

Self-Portrait Published in Poets and Artists

My self-portrait can be seen on page 87 in a special self-portrait issue of Poets and Artists by Oranges & Sardines, a quarterly poetry and art publication. The issue is available for view in full online at their website here. You can read poems by writers as well as view two-dimensional self-portraits by visual artists in all mediums. Portraits in Michigan

Two of my portrait paintings will be included in the following show:

Portraits in Michigan is a juried invitational exhibit showcasing the best of portraits in painting and drawing from around the state of Michigan. It is organized and hosted by Hillsdale College, located in the south central region of the state. Works were judged for inclusion by nationally-recognized artist, Carl J. Samson, former president of the American Society of Portrait Artists along with Sam Knecht, exhibit organizer and chair of the Department of Art at Hillsdale College.

I'm the Featured Artist for May at Trekell & Company

Trekell & Company, an artist brushmaker located in Hesperia, California, makes professional-grade brushes entirely by hand. They are my source for the tools that I need to get the job done wether it be painting thick layers, applying thin glazes, scumbling, and detail work.

I'm excited to say that Trekell & Company has chosen me to be their Featured Artist for May 2009. My work and a description of how I use their brushes is on their website. I'm in good company as they have featured fantastic artists since they began doing this. If you are an artist I recommend that you give them a try.
